first_imgAssistant Professor, Supply Chain ManagementMike Ilitch School of BusinessThe Department of Marketing and Supply Chain Management at WayneState University’s Mike Ilitch School of Business is seeking tofill a Tenure-Track position for the Fall of 2021 at the AssistantProfessor level. Candidates will be expected to conduct researchsuitable for publication in top tier journals, teach courses inareas of interest at the undergraduate and graduate level,participate in department and school governance activities, andperform related duties as assigned. We expect the candidate to be afully engaged participant in the life of the Mike Ilitch School ofBusiness. A typical teaching load is 2+2 – teaching studentsmajoring in supply chain management. The ideal candidate wouldhave interest in and experience teaching courses related topurchasing, logistics or production planning and management; andwould have interest in, or experience in, the complex manufacturingand health care industries, including the very high tech automotiveindustry. An additionalfocus is on health care supply chains given proximity to manyhospital systems. The program currently enrolls some 550undergraduate SCM major students, offers an MBA concentration inSupply Chain Management and one in Health Care SCM with some 140students in total, has a Masters of Science in Automotive SCMDegree with 25 students, and offers two automotive industry relatedSCM executive education programs. There are currently 10 full timeSCM faculty including 7 tenure track faculty and 3 clinicalfaculty, with this position providing the 8th tenure track positionin SCM. The Program teaches some 22 SCM courses that are regularlyoffered with often multiple sections of each course. The SCMProgram also initiated and the School each year offers five 12 daystudy abroad programs in China, Brazil, Italy and Poland; overseesan automotive industry funded 24 school global case competitionwith 5 foreign teams included recently, and is involved in a jointauto industry SCM research program with an automotive industryorganization.
