University Regulations (policies, rules, guidelines, procedures)impact the entire University: main campus and health sciences, HRand Academic Senate, students and employees, and small units (e.g.,programs) and large units (e.g., colleges). The Director of theUniversity Policy Office (UPO) has a comprehensive understanding ofthe Regulations Library, including how multiple regulationsinteract in all of these contexts, as well as how the RegulationsLibrary intersects with State and Federal laws and regulations.The UPO Director draws on this comprehensiveunderstanding in order to help draft and revise regulations; toadvise policy owners/officers on proposals; and to ensureregulations are consistent and clear, as well as equitable andinclusive.
