Are you ready for a few days of spring fever? Not today or Friday, but, hey, the weekend is looking great. At least, that was the latest Wednesday afternoon. The high on Saturday will be 60. Sunday it’ll be 65. Some areas could hit 70 degrees on Monday. Saturday through Monday will have above average high temperatures. We will have offshore winds over the weekend. That could make things a little cooler along the Columbia River but elsewhere, it should be quite pleasant. At this time of the year, spring weather can be fickle and toss something unexpected in the forecast, but let’s run with this.Today will see rain at times and breezy conditions. South winds could get gusty in the afternoon, up to 30 mph. Along the Oregon Coast, there was a high wind warning, but none for the Washington Coast. Snow will fall in the higher ski areas and fall to the passes or below Friday for a couple inches there. It almost reached 60 degrees Tuesday. The official high for Vancouver was 59 degrees. The average for this date is 56 degrees. Those highs in the 60s coming up will sure feel nice. You’ll see many in shorts, sandals and convertibles with the tops down, I’m sure. We are a funny bunch here in the Pacific Northwest and take advantage of each fair-weather day.In Vancouver, we are running way below normal in the average mean temperature and way below normal on the rainfall for March. We will bring both closer to average in the next several days. Patrick Timm is a local weather specialist. His column appears Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays. Reach him at http://patricktimm.com.
